JAMB delists four CBT centres, arrests 27 impersonators during 2025 UTME in Abuja

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has delisted four Computer-Based Testing (CBT) centres and arrested 27 impersonators during the ongoing 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in Abuja.

In a statement released on Friday, JAMB spokesperson Dr. Fabian Benjamin announced that the affected CBT centres were removed from the list for failing to meet the board’s stringent technical standards. The delisted centres are:

Adventure Associate, behind Sheshe Supermarket off Hadejia Road, Kano, Kano State

Saadatu Rimi College of Education, Zaria Road, Naibawa, Kano, Kano State

Penta M & F Technical Services Ltd., Centre 2, 96km Sokoto-Jega Road, Tambuwal

Penta M & F Technical Services Ltd., Centre 1, 96km Sokoto-Jega Road, Tambuwal

Candidates scheduled to write their exams at any of these centres have been advised to reprint their examination notification slips immediately to avoid missing their tests. “We regret any inconvenience this may cause, but we will not tolerate excuses from candidates who fail to reprint their slips,” Dr. Benjamin warned.

JAMB commended the 883 centres nationwide that have demonstrated exceptional performance, reiterating that any centre failing to meet ethical or technical standards-regardless of ownership-will be blacklisted

In a related development, JAMB reported the arrest of 27 individuals who attempted to sit for the UTME on behalf of others. The suspects have been handed over to the Nigeria Police for immediate prosecution.

Dr. Benjamin also addressed an incident at Caleb University, where candidates wearing hijabs were reportedly restricted. He confirmed that swift action was taken and no candidate suffered undue disadvantage, with the university’s leadership intervening promptly.

As of Friday, April 25, more than 900,000 candidates had completed the UTME out of over 2 million registered for the 2025 examination.

The board launched decoy websites to trap individuals seeking leaked exam questions or fake score upgrades, exposing at least 180 candidates involved in such scams.

Additionally, JAMB disbursed over N397 million in transport allowances to 1,909 officials for the nationwide mock exam held on April 10, underlining its commitment to a smooth and credible examination process.

JAMB continues to enforce strict standards to protect the integrity of the UTME. Candidates are urged to stay updated on official channels and ensure compliance with all examination guidelines.
