The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has called on candidates who missed the rescheduled 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) due to genuine reasons to formally notify the board through its official support platform.
In a statement released via its verified X handle, JAMB directed affected candidates to visit the support portal at support.jamb.gov.ng to raise a ticket. Candidates are required to provide a clear explanation for missing the exam and specify their preferred exam centre for a retake.
Additionally, JAMB has launched a Candidate Counselling Emergency Support Centre (CCESC) to assist candidates with urgent concerns. The centre complements the existing ticketing system, which remains the primary and most efficient channel for communication. Candidates can also reach out to designated officials via the helpline number 07002200016.
The move follows the announcement that JAMB will reconduct the UTME for 379,997 candidates affected by technical issues in 157 centres across Nigeria. The re-examination began on May 16, 2025, with notifications sent through SMS, email, phone calls, and candidates’ JAMB profiles.
The most impacted zones include Lagos, with 65 centres and over 206,000 candidates affected, and the Owerri zone in the South-East, which experienced disruptions in 92 centres involving more than 173,000 candidates.
JAMB’s proactive approach underscores its commitment to fairness and transparency in managing the examination process, ensuring that all candidates are given a fair opportunity to participate despite earlier technical setbacks.
