The Federal Government has unveiled the 2025 Build-A-Thon Holiday Camp, a tech bootcamp designed to teach digital skills to Nigerian children aged 10 to 18.
Starting August 4, the camp will provide hands-on training in areas like coding, robotics, and the Internet of Things, aiming to nurture future tech innovators across Nigeria. The program will run in Abeokuta, Abuja, and Kano, with plans to expand to more cities. Organizers hope to welcome over 2,000 participants this year, building on last year’s success that trained more than 5,000 children nationwide.
Dr. Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, announced the camp via social media, urging parents to register their children at the official link. He stated that the ministry’s goal to foster a “maker culture” where kids learn by building projects and collaborating with peers.
“This camp is about more than just learning, it’s a space where young minds connect, create, and get inspired,” Tijani said.
The Build-A-Thon is part of the government’s bigger effort to boost Nigeria’s tech capacity through programs like the 3 Million Technical Talent initiative, which trains Nigerians in digital skills that create new opportunities in the tech space.
Registration is open to all eligible children regardless of where they live, with participants grouped by region.
For parents and guardians interested in enrolling their children, the registration link is http://b.link/Buildatonholidaycamp-2025.
This shows Nigeria’s commitment to developing local tech talent and ensuring young Nigerians gain the skills needed in a rapidly changing digital world.
