JAMB shuts 2025 WASSCE result portal, assures candidates of prompt fix

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has temporarily closed its portal. The exam body says it is fixing a technical glitch that affected earlier uploads.

JAMB announced the shutdown on Thursday, explaining that some candidates faced problems after uploading results from the first release of the WASSCE. While details about the exact fault are scarce, the board promised affected students that a solution is coming soon.

Attention, Dear Candidates, Kindly be aware that the temporary closure of the portal for the 2025 WASSCE result upload is to address the issue with those who had previously uploaded the initially-released WASSCE result. Please be patient while our technical crew works on the portal. You will be contacted shortly to upload your result – JAMB official statement.

This development will mainly affect students applying for admission in the 2024/2025 academic session, where uploading your WASSCE result is a key requirement. JAMB is asking candidates to stay calm and says an alert will go out once the portal is open again.

This isn’t the first time a major exam portal in Nigeria has gone offline lately. WAEC suspended its result checker on August 6 after spotting technical bugs, while NECO has shut down platforms for maintenance, frustrating many students and causing delays for international applications.

JAMB recently revealed strong performance data for the latest exam cycle. Out of all candidates for the 2025 UTME, a record 17,025 students scored 300 and above, nearly double last year’s figure. More students also broke the 250 and 200 mark compared to previous years. Admission scores according to JAMB, for the next round are set, minimum 150 for universities, 100 for polytechnics and colleges of education, and 140 for colleges of nursing.

This portal shutdown could delay admission for thousands of hopefuls, but JAMB is making sure issues get fixed before results are processed. Students are advised to watch out for updates from JAMB and not panic.
