The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reactivated the portal for uploading 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for all UTME candidates across Nigeria.
In a statement on its official X account on Tuesday, August 20, 2025, JAMB urged candidates to visit accredited centres to upload their results. Daily Tech Nigeria reported that the portal had been temporarily suspended to address technical issues following an error in the initial release of WASSCE results by WAEC. This upload is essential for admission processing, as JAMB verifies candidates’ O’level results before sending admission lists to universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
Candidates who fail to upload their WAEC or NECO results risk being excluded from the admission process, even if they perform well in the UTME. JAMB emphasized using only accredited CBT centres to avoid errors and ensure data accuracy.
The portal suspension starting August 14 was necessary after WAEC revised its initial results, which originally showed a low pass rate due to grading errors in core subjects such as Mathematics and English. After correction, the pass rate rose from 38.32% to 62.96%, benefiting over 1.2 million candidates. Meanwhile, about 191,000 results remain withheld over malpractice investigations.
The reopening of JAMB’s portal now allows candidates to update their results and continue with the admission process for the 2024/2025 academic session.
Candidates are advised to act promptly, as uploading accurate O’level results is critical to securing admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions this year.
