Nigerian insure-fintech startup Skydd has unveiled a new leadership team led by two women as it expands beyond insurance into a financial services platform focused on protection, savings, payments, and embedded finance.
The company announced that Chituru Nsirim and Anu Oyeleye will lead its next phase of growth as Skydd seeks to make protection a core part of everyday financial services rather than a standalone insurance product.
Nsirim, a founding executive at Skydd, will oversee Business Development and Operations, while Oyeleye will lead Product and Marketing as the company broadens its offerings.
According to Skydd, the leadership team combines expertise in banking, insurance, fintech, product development, and technology to reshape how Nigerians access financial protection.
The company said it currently serves more than 20,000 active customers and operates with positive EBITDA and positive cash flow.
Skydd also plans to provide protection infrastructure to banks, fintechs, employers, merchants, and developers, enabling them to integrate insurance and protection services directly into their products.
The platform will combine protection, savings, digital wallets, and payment cards within a single ecosystem, allowing businesses to embed protection into customer experiences alongside payments and savings.
While Skydd’s operations are currently focused on Nigeria, the company said it aims to build protection infrastructure for financial services across Africa.
