Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) Kenya has begun the search for a new managing director following the recall of Jubril Adeniji by its Nigerian parent company at the end of his tenure.
GTB announced on Monday that Adeniji will remain in office for the next 90 days, while the bank seeks regulatory approval for his successor.
Adeniji was appointed Managing Director of GTBank Kenya in 2023 after previously serving as the Managing Director of the bank’s Tanzanian subsidiary.
GTBank Kenya said the transition process is underway and that a new chief executive will assume office once the necessary regulatory approvals have been obtained.
Meanwhile, the lender did not disclose the reason for Adeniji’s return to Nigeria as at the time this report was published.
